LSDC Legal Secretary of the Year Guidelines

AGNES SOOS, President of LSDC, was selected
recipient of the Legal Secretary of the Year Award for 2009. Agnes
is a secretary at Blank, Rome, where she ably assists Robert Madden,
Esq., with whom she has worked for many years . She has proven
very dedicated to LSDC, as she planned most of the meetings, obtained
speakers, and,with the assistance of Sharon Gill, LSDC Secretary,
published the monthly newsletter. The award was presented at our
Annual Christmas Party held at Rumors. Congratulations, Agnes!

To reward a secretary who exemplifies the highest standards of the secretarial profession and renders service to our association.
Must be a regular member in good standing of LSDC
At least three years experience as a legal secretary
Judging of the candidates will be done by a panel of at least three people selected by the Legal Secretary of the Year Committee. Judges must be lawyers or members of a law-related profession (including, but not limited to, administrators, secretarial managers, paralegals, or secretaries).

Candidates must be nominated by a member in good standing of LSDC on an official nomination form by November 16, 2009.
When a nomination is received, the LSY Committee will assign the Nominee an identification number and send a Personal Data Sheet to the Nominee. The Personal Data Sheet and a letter or statement from a supervisor of the nominee must be returned to the LSY Committee by the date stated thereon.
The Personal Data Sheets and Recommendations will be copied and sent to the judges with all personally identifying information redacted. The judges will make a decision and notify the Chairman of the LSY Committee of the number of the Candidate selected as LSDC Legal Secretary of the Year.
The name of the winner of the award will remain secret and be known only to members of the LSY Committee and the Director of Member Services until the Award is presented at the April meeting of LSDC.
The award will consist of a trophy and a cash award of $100.00. Award will be given at April's membership meeting.
