Legal Secretaries International
Inc. offers six specialty certification exams (business law, civil
litigation, criminal law, intellectual property, probate, and real
estate) leading to the designation of Certified Legal Secretary Specialist
(CL§). The exams are given yearly at the
Annual Meeting of Legal Secretaries International Inc., or at such
times as there are sufficient applicants in one area. Examination
fee is $35 for members and $75 for non-members. The equivalent of
five years' law-related experience is required, with educational and
certification waivers allowed for up to three years. Certification
exams in additional specialty areas are planned for the future.
- LSDC offers a network of peers in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area and,
through its affiliation with Legal Secretaries International Inc., an
international network to give you and your firm a wealth of resources.
